My Essentials Spiral Hams at Food Lion for $.99 a lb.
The Food Lion in Harrisonburg had a great deal on Spiral Hams today - $.99 a lb ! They averaged about 10 - 12 lbs each and costs averaged between $7 to $8.50 each. They had lots in the display case, so be on the look out at your Food Lion. Regular Price $2.79 a lb - I picked up a couple to freeze for Easter !
Wisk Laundry Detergent on Clearance at Food Lion - means $.06 a Load !
Sometimes you don't need a Coupon to find a great bargain !
I was at Food Lion today in Harrisonburg and they had reduced HE Wisk Laundry Detergent for $1.62.
So my total looks like this:
21 Bottles X $1.62 = $34.02
26 loads X 21 bottles = 546 loads
$34.02 divided by 546 = $.06 a load
I got 546 loads of Laundry in total or $.06 each
Just in case you need laundry detergent and don't find a deal like this one here is a Wisk coupon you can print.

Buy Potatoes and Ground Beef and Get $3 back in the Mail !
Virginia is a great state to live in and the beer companies often sponsor mail in rebates, that do not require you to purchase beer. You must purchase specific items and submit the original cash register receipts(s), and occasionally the UPC code from the package, along with the original mail in rebate form and you will get a check back in the mail !
This is a wonderful new rebate that starts today - Get $3.00 back in the mail when you purchase ONE (1) bag of Potatoes and any GROUND MEAT (your minimum purchase must be $6.01). This is a 50 % return. The rebate is Sponsored by Killian's Irish Red and runs from 2-26-12 thru 3-17-12. It is good only in AR, KY, MO, NC, UT, VA and WV - so be on the look out in your stores beer isle for these types of rebates. I found this one at Kroger in Harrisonburg.
I plan on using the Sale at Martin's that begins today to purchase the items needed to meet the purchase requirements of this rebate. 5 lbs of all purpose potatotes will be on sale for $2.50 so I will grab a bag ! Then I will be taking advantage of the Kraft Instant Savings deal located on page 4 of the Ad to purchase the Ground Meat. This deal requires you to purchase any 5 (mix or match) of the items in the photo section of the ad. When you do you can also get a package of Fresh Meat or Seafood and you will get a $5 discount on the Meat or Seafood ! The best way to take advantage of offers like this is to purchase a package of meat or seafood as close to $5 in total as possible.
I happen to have Coupons of course that will help with my purchase and to keep my cash out of pocket total low so here is my plan.
Buy Four HomeStyle Kraft Mac and Cheese (4 X $2) = $8.00
Buy One Shake N Bake $2.00
Use Four $.75/1 Mac and Cheese Coupons, the first one will double to $1 and the other 3 will come off at face value.
Use One $.50/1 Shake N Bake Coupon - which will double to $1.00
Find a package of Ground Beef (as close to $5.00 as possible), so for math lets say $5.99

The register will give me $5.00 Instantly
So My Out of Pocket Cash will be: $9.24
And I will have a receipt that I can use to submit the Mail in Rebate and Get $3.00 back in the Mail.

Do you use your Coupons right away ?
I love this video by Kenny Rogers. Knowing when you should hold onto a coupon or when to use them is critical to couponing. Tonight I was at Martin's and they had Hormel Party Trays on Sale for $7.99 and I had two printed coupons, that were about to expire for $3.00 off each party platter. I also had a mail in rebate to get $8 back in the mail when I purchased Two party platters.
I was really glad I had held onto these coupons, until I found a really great sale !

Most households have a budget for gasoline and a separate budget for food and household items. If you combine your budgets and take advantage of deals like this even without cpns you can really stretch your dollar. Lets say I use 6 cans of vegetables per week X 52 weeks per year = 312 cans. This might be high for some people and low for others, think about holidays, entertaining etc.
With this sale if I buy 312 cans of vegetables, I would pay $312 out of my pocket but I would earn $10.40 off per gallon of gasoline.
Here is the Math: 312 cans means doing the deal 26 times (you can do it all in one transaction, by the way) and earning $.40 off per gallon for each 12 you buy, so $.40 X 26 = $10.40.
With the Price of gas at $3.49 a gallon that means I could go to the pumps, three times, pumping 30 gallons each time and I would pay, $.07 X 30 gallons for my last fill up ( $.21 cents) yes $.21 cents for 90 gallons of gasoline.
You can pump 30 gallons this week and leave the remaining points on your rewards card until you are ready to use them. They don't expire in this rewards cycle until 3-17-12. So sit down and calculate what your gasoline budget is for 90 gallons of gas and if you did not have to spend that $$ on gasoline - would it be worth buying enough canned vegetables to last a year ??? My answer is yes !

The first one is a Buy Any 8 items and earn $.20 per gallon on gas OR buy any 12 Items from the same category and Earn $.40 per gallon on gas. I'm very excited about this Category ! Buying 8 earns me a reward of $6 but if I buy in multiples of 12 instead I earn a reward of twice as much, or $12 in gas !
This is all about the math and how you think about your money. I like getting more than just product for my $$. During this sale I can purchase 12 cans of Green Giant Vegetables, spending $12 out of my pocket but I will have earned $12 in savings, when I pump my 30 gallons of gasoline. I have to buy the gasoline anyways - so it's like getting the Vegetables for Free !
